I recently received the ZMF Eikon pads and expect to do some more critical listening this weekend. I'll post an impression then but from a comfort stand point I can say that the Audeze vegan pads are hands down the most comfortable from all of my headphones.
@macky112

I used a Cricut machine to cut this after doing a design in photoshop.
Could you send me that design please! it would be amazing!

is there anyway to use the photoshop file without the Cricut machine? maybe print it out and lay it on the back side (sticker side) of the adhesive felt and cut with a scissor?

I am selling my Monolith m1060 version 2 good as new for only 300$ with an upgraded silver cable.
PM me for anyone interested

Out of curiosity, what other headphones do you mostly use?

Well everyone isn't going to love every headphone, no matter how much they cost. Sorry it didn't sound pleasing to you. Hopefully they go to a loving home soon! Seems like a decent deal as you still have to pay shipping from Monoprice, and you're including a second and nice silver cable. They should sell fast. Good luck!

I have owned HD800S but sold it, currently own the HD800 modded, Stax 3100 system, and the Monolith M1060.
I rarely have time to use my headphones anymore because I'm always on the go, so I decided to sell one of them.

I love the M1060, it literally sounds like the LCD X for me, But I still prefer my modded Hd800 + Stax system, as a classical lover there is still nothing that beats it IMO

My 1060's arrived today and so far, I'm quite impressed. They're a definite improvement on my 400S' + Pleather HM5 Pads. I'm excited to get some new pads and apply the fuzzor mod to unlock what these puppies can do.

Does anybody have any suggestions for alternate pads now that the vegans are seemingly extinct? I'm quite impressed with the the HM5's for comfort, but am not sure how they could be fitted to the M1060 being oval. I'm considering Brainwavz XL circular pads, ZMF Ori's, angled Ether's and Lambskin Audeze. Seems it could be an expensive dice roll and the impression I've got from reading the thread is almost all are ok, but I didn't get a feel for a clear winner.

Don't do the Ether C pads, they're too bright and the 5kHz brightness will light you up. Audeze Lambskin is supposed to be quite good as are the ZMF Ori. Those Brainwavz pads probably will have too much treble and not enough bass, but I'm just guessing there.

the stock pad is so comfortable, it is a waste to throw it away, just do the fuzzor mod and use EQ for the rest
I would agree this is a good start

Maybe the 5k ringing doesn't bother you, then don't fix it if it's not broken (to you)

So I shipped in my headphones for repair/replacement. It arrived the next to them yet the RMA status reads not received. Either they have a lot of RMAs or move really slow. I am impatient. lol

I've read almost this entire thread, and I think my ears might be broken or my preferences are really weird.

I just got the M1060 and have spent about 8 hours comparing them to my existing HD598.

I keep thinking I prefer the HD598 because they seem more detailed, with better clarity, detail, and separation of instruments.

At the very least, the HD598 is a better value given the M1060 cost me 2.5x as much.

My source is a macbook pro, I have an NFB-11 on the way to see if that makes the M1060 pop.

If it doesn't, I think I will keep the HD598 and seek out a bigger upgrade jump to some cans that have better clarity like HD800.
