Are there dual 2.5mm to 4-pin XLR cables? Having trouble finding some.

Does this help?

Those won't work. It has to be balanced from the cup connector on both sides terminating to 2.5/3.5mm TRRS or 4-Pin XLR.

When you get ahold of your pair (assuming today if you are picking them up at their warehouse) would you confirm or deny the new cup connector? One post from a guy on reddit with no pictures hardly instills confidence. :)

As Requested.

Sorry the pics aren't that great just wanted to snap a shot real quick. I never owned the first batch so I cant really compare the other differences. But from the reports of people stating the 1st batch grates were razor sharp I can say these are nothing like that. Confirmed no more mmcx connectors they are using 2.5mm and the cables are about 6ft long.

I know my laptop has a 32 bit ESS Sabre DAC chip built into the headphone jack... but its also a burr brown amp built into same headphone jack and I don't want to mess up my signar...  what is that third plugin for? i see headphones, mic, then the 3rd one... what is that sucker for?  please explain lol

I've seen a lot of amp recommendations in this thread but they all seemed to be commercial ones - does anyone have a recommendation of a DIY amp that would be very high quality and geared toward driving planars?  I have investigated The Wire and the Objective 2 a few years ago, but not sure if those are the best nowadays or if there's been some improvement since I last looked.   If there were one good for driving both dynamic and planars that would be great, but if I had to pick I'd rather make one geared toward planars than have the final product suffer.

For reference, I have the solid state Monoprice DAC/AMP combo and a Schiit Fulla 2 at the moment, but I am open to higher price points.

DAC/AMP combo:

I have an Audio-GD NFB-11 that drives all my phones well. It has enough power to drive most headphones.

Stand alone AMP:
Garage 1217 have some nice offerings what deliver a good amount of power to drive just about anything. I have a Project Polaris. Combines with my NFB-11 at 50%  the Porject Polaris drives all my headphones at VERY LOUD levels at 50% or less.

I like the idea of the 2.5 mm plugs better, considerably better. I don't particularly like the way the jacks are mounted. It looks pretty cheap. Better if they were countersunk/inset. It looks like a rush job to get the design changed.
It is not a huge deal. I am more concerned with the sound... still it is a bit tacky looking... even if functionally a better connection.
