Buy M1060 to replace my M560, or buy decent AMP (current run M560 direct from my laptop). Thanks for suggestion.
Running an M1060 straight out of a laptop won't do it any favors. It's easy to drive but sound quality will be lacking without clean power on tap. So if I were you, I would get an amp instead if it's a choice between the two. I don't know, however, what amp pairs well with the M560 since I don't own one. That's my 2¢.

The laptop can't run the m560 to its full potential. Purchase the Fiio m7 player for 199.00 , purchase any micro card of your choosing up to 512gb. , Purchase the Fiio A5 portable and with bass boost and lastly, swap the m560 pads to the shure1540 pads and it will be on steroids. Won't regret it.
Shure1450 pads 25-40 bucks
Fiio m7 199.00
Fiio A5 portable amp 129.00
Welcome to a bass pounding beast without losing detail.

Better bang for the buck is to get a good amp, maybe the Schiit Magni 3, and an external such as their Modi 2, about $200 if you buy both. Another option is the fiio Q1 mark 2, which has an amp and a DAC together for $99. A good one that is about in the middle is the Xduoo XD-05 amp/dac.

Been running the Dekoni Audeze pads and I really like them a lot. Insanely comfortable and the sound has definitely had an improvement. Wish I could try a pair with the vegan pads to see how similar they are.

On a side note, are there any mods I can do to try and clear up the mids? They sound very grainy to me and is noticeable with some instruments and mostly male vocals. Current mods so far are the fazors and honeycomb grill. I'm thinking about doing the fuzzor mod instead since the pads dont stick as nice with the fazors (pads directly to the base rather than the 3D printed ring), but wondering what you all think.

Have you tried doing the fuzzor mod in the grill side? It seems to clean up the sound a bit for me at least.

Will definitely give that a try. Is there a specific felt sheet I should be looking for or is any fine, so long as all the metal is covered?

I'm pretty sure any felt sheet should be fine with a reasonable thickness. I used some stuff from walmart, but seems like lots of people use the Creatology felt from Michael's without issue. I sort of regret not buying the ones with adhesive already applied to them.

IMG_20180714_152930_01.jpg Testing out some cheap pads from the bay.

Does everyone keep on the thin driver felt cover when pad rolling? I took it off.

I also bought some adhesive felt. Will try rear fuzzors next.

Edit: went ahead and tried front fuzzors first. Reiterating what others have said. More powered needed, treble tamed but still clear and bass seems more direct with the power boosted.

Got some new grills for the M1060 put on today. They were printed from a @PockyG file (Thanks for creating those files!).

Beautiful!! Simply beautiful. I converted my m1060c to open back myself.

Did you paint those grills?

No, mine are all metal on the cups, they are the M1060c Closed back the not the m1060 open back. However, I converter them to open back.
