I've been meaning to test it with my HE6se v2. I tried it on my Jot2 and found it was generally fine but there was this weird collapsing of the soundstage that I didn't like compared to the 160WPC Onkyo AVR I usually drive it from. I'd love to get this 80lb behemoth off my desk if I could find something smaller that drove it as well, lol. Never got around to trying the LGX with it, though, don't know why.

Looks like they're out of stock on the monoprice website. This is how it started with the Liquid Platinum and Liquid Spark just before Monoprice announced that they had been discontinued. I wonder if that is now going to happen with the Liquid Gold X?
• Spending more time with LGX has been a rediscovery of how accomplished this solid-stater is. Lovely tonal balance, wide frequency range, startling dynamics, unwavering soundstage .... so easy to follow individual strains or to bask in the totality. A very light sweetness without grain, to boot!
• With Grado GS-3000x and Lee Morgan, I definitely had the best seat in the my house.

I echo that - with the right headphones the Liquid Gold X sounds very good indeed. With headphones that don't get along with the amp - not so much. That's part of the fun of this hobby - finding headphones and amps that work well together.
