I need to pick up a 10 Foot RCA / 3.5mm cable. How are the monoprice ones? I don't really want to spend top dollar on a cable....

I saw blue jeans cable but they want like $45 for the 10 foot interconnect and monoprice wants like $5.

BJC's a one-man op, they can't offer competitive pricing for anything but specialty cables. Monoprice is _the_ model for a fair cable retailer and their record is superb. The only concern with their new interconnects is the conceit of gimmicky rubber jackets.

I just received 2 X 1' RCA cables from monoprice. They are bullet proof. hard to say no for that price!

Blue Jeans Cables is like the model for what I could do as a sole prop. Good quality, no gimmicks, but not quite cheap enough, for those on a budget, not quite fancy enough for those who want more.

Monoprice is always a solid bet. I don't like how stiff and thick their new "premium" cables are. For longer runs or something behind a rack, they would be great, but on my desk, with small components, they just aren't right for my situation.

Plus, DIY has consumed me so I no longer buy finished cables (outside of optical or hdmi).

I was going to say DIY but $5 is hard to beat. I had left over silver coated copper cable and made a pair of XLR and RCA cables, total cost was about $20 and about 1/2 hour labor for some nice tough cables- probably sound the same as the Monoprice one though.

Monoprice cables are horrible IMO. You will notice a difference between even BJC's cable and monoprice. You get what you pay for..

I need to agree with how stiff monoprice cables are...I have had to move my set up forward because the cables are only 1 foot long..1 from DAC to amp, another from phono preamp to amp...they are so stiff they don't bend or go behind my setup nicely.
however, the sound and price outweigh the 2 or 3 inches I needed to move my gear forward.
plus I hope with time they get more bendable!

I really don't think I'd notice a difference in quality from Monoprice and Blue jeans Cable considering Im running

I thought you only notice it on either really crappy cables or with VERY high end gear.

Cables are either functional or broken, calling them crappy or horrible is the result of making an aesthetic judgment that has no basis in their actual performance.

Monoprice isn't the prettiest but they function just as well as the "audiophile-grade" cables.
