I see a lot of comparisons to the M50, but has anyone compared these to the ATH-M30?  The M30 is closer in price.

I have these headphones, they sound great for their price.  My complaints are: my ears get hot/sweaty wearing them more then a couple songs and if i move my head i can hear the headband creak or flex as it adjusts

I had the same problem. Picked up a set of velour ear pads and a headband cover. Much more comfortable. Easy fix.

I like the JVC HA-S500 more than these, but they are 2x the price.  I wonder how the HA-S400 compares since they are about the same price.

It's then an on ear vs over ear, the 8323's would be more comfortable.

Agree.  I find my 8323's more comfortable than the S500s even with the WS55 pads.

My Experience with the Monoprice 8323 Headphones:

I bought these approximately 5 months ago. I live in Canada so it took approximately 30 days for it to ship here. Based on other reviews, these headphones dropped from heaven, and so I eagerly anticipated when I'd actually be able to try them on. When they finally arrived, I was virtually salivating. When I put them on, I was instantly put off by how it felt. It had these 3 individual pads prodding on left-hand, centre, and right-side of your head. They feel quite uncomfortable. As soon as I played the first song, I forgot about all that. They sounded AMAZING. Even if price wasn't an factor, they blew my mind. They were my portable headphones for almost 4 months until a few weeks ago, when they broke. The entire headband snapped. I would say that I was using it quite roughly, and it fell on the floor quite a few times, however, I was quite surprised and disappointed when they broke. Overall, I would rate these a 8.5/10. If the padding was slightly changed, I would probably give it a ten. Just keep in mind that, these headphones should be handled with atleast a decent amount of care.

It does not take much to modify these headphones into submission. Amazon has a leather snap on for the band and you can add velour ear cups for comfort. The center decals that look like graphite were also on Amazon. Just the whimsical side of me!
