Modmic 4.0 with headphones ps4 setup HELP

I just bought the philips fidelio x2 with a modmic 4.0 and a 3.5mm splitter and was hopping this would be compatible with the ps4 (based on my research it should of been). But now im using it and the modmic doesnt seem to work the headphones work fine ive just plugged them into the controller and the audio sounds ALOT better than im use to but the microphone doesnt work at all. Do I need to buy the astro mixamp or something, or is there a better solution or did i just mess up and wasted a lot of money. PLEASE HELP I really need a solution thanks.

You should be able to use a Y-adapter and it just work, but it says you may have to change some audio settings on the console. I don't own a console so I don't know what settings are available, but try taking a look.

yeah I have done that, that's what the splitter is for. I thought that as well but it does not work, there aren't many settings to change either besides the main one which changes it from either all audio or mic only (I think thats the names of the two options) the other settings don't do to much that would affect it, thanks anyways.
