This is the first headphone mod that I have ever done, and it just involves taking the pads from my Beyer DT-880s, mounting them on a cutout of mattboard that fits the grados.
Very special thanks to jrussell6 for doing essentially the same thing to his SR-325i's and giving me the inspiration. His thread is here:

THANKS MAN!
Anyways, on to the mod. I just recently bought a pair of RS-2's and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them. I think that I'll have these for a LONG time. Unfortunately, the bowl pads, after a couple hours of continuous use, tend to hurt my ears. It's not that bad at all, considering that I went through the same thing with my SR-80's, but I was bored and after seeing jrussell6's mod, I decided to try it out. I won't go into detail about how to do it since it is explained in jrussell6's thread, but I can say that it is pretty easy to do.
And the results are fantastic. Not only are they ridiculously comfortable (even more comfortable than the DT-880's since the RS-2's are so light), but they sound better, to me, at least. I always appreciated the 'front and center' sound of the Grado's, but I also loved the airiness of the Beyers. These are somewhere in between the two. They retain all of the signature Grado sound, and the RS-2's detail and smoothness, but provide a slightly more open soundstage. Anyways, I was bored and I modded my cans. What more can be said?

As you can see, it's not the prettiest thing in the world, but I might paint them a little to make them look a little nicer.
