Hello everyone,

I'm on the lookup to buy a new mobile phone and what matters the most to me is the SQ. Even if it hasn't got camera or w/e, doesn't matter.

I've sold my HTC One, yes HTC ONE because I thought the Clip+ was much better in SQ with higher volume as well.

Anyways, please give me some recommendations of what I could get. After having bought a $600 phone and being disappointed by it's sound quality, I'm not sure which mobile phone to get. I really like my rockboxed clip+ and the sound quality is just amazing and what a mobile phone that would have equal or better sound quality.

Thanks

Not sure how newer phones compare but the old Wolfson equpped Samsung Galaxy S1 (i9000gt) when rooted and with the Voodoo sound ap installed is a great combo and is said to have superior SQ to the Sansa devices

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but iirc the Voodoo kernal only works with an earlier version of android and has to be rooted but if you can put up with that, that's what I'd go for. You may also get one with it already rooted/installed if you look about.

Have been doing some more research and my budget is about 200$ for the phone and so far I've come up with the following:

iPhone 4 32GB(used one)
Galaxy S i9000
Nokia N8

I guess the Galaxy s is much better than the nokia n8 in terms of sq?

I don't have an N8 to be able to comment on it personally but from according to other opinions on the net the answer is yes.

NZtechfreak on here has/had both and also prefers the SGS1, see- http://www.head-fi.org/t/517432/nokia-n8-and-feeding-a-portable-dac-with-usb-on-the-go/195
