Here we have 4 pairs of RCA to RCA ICs, a mini to mini IC, and a Mini to RCA IC. Total cost - $150.
The breakdown -
2 pairs of Magwires "Normal" ICs
1 pair of Audioquest Diamondbacks
1 pair of Element Cable Musical IIs
1 Magwires "Normal" mini-to-rca
1 MisterX mini to mini.
(xin mini to mini goes in my portable rig.)
We have these units to hook up-
Toshiba 3960
Technics turntable
Sony receiver - has to be in there for its phono stage for the turntable.
GSPAudio Solo amp - it has two RCA source inputs, so the Sony and the Toshiba can both go in at the same time - the toggle switch between both sources is in the front. Nifty.
*cough BSR EQ-3000* - don't worry, this Graphic equalizer will only be in the chain for flavor occassionally.
What do you suggest in terms of connectivity? I've read that the capacitance of the Element Cable is half that of the other ICs, so it probably is the best candidate for the turntable to the Sony phono in. The Diamondback is the priciest IC I have, so let's put that inbetween the Tushi and the Solo directly. The Magwires can go from the Sony to the Solo, and when it's time to pop in the equalizer, the other magwires is ready to plug in the solo when i unplug the source to be equalized. When I'm in the mood, the mini to rca magwires can either be used to plug the ipod into the Solo, or plug a source into the SR-71 for a change of pace. The MisterX mini to mini goes from my computer card to the SR71 right now when I'm in the mood for some serious video gaming action on Warcraft.
How does that sound? All of the ICs are copper - I feel silver is too bright for my MS-2s and DT770s.
If you have any suggestions on how I should switch them around, feel free to let me know, thanks!
