Hello, i'm new to this forum, so apologies if i've somehow made a faux-pas by creating this thread...

if it's still here, i'll appriciate if i can gain some advice about those three amps, which i'm having trouble deciding to buy.

Background: I travel alot, and frequently fly. recently my bottom range philips noise-cancelling headphone broke (only after 2 months) which to replace my well worn but aging technic closed headphones, so i finally decided enough was enough and went out and brought some expensive headphones that will at leased have some staying powers.

So I bought some Shures SE210 (please don't laugh. they were expensive to me).

But after a few months wearing my Shures, i've notice a big difference in quality when i use my shures on my laptop and on my mp3/mobile/NDS music player, even though i tried encoding the music at a higher quality on those mobile devices, but it still lacked something.

So i figured, perhaps an amp would actually make my shures sound even better, since i assumed my laptop power output is making the difference.

I was thinking of the Headroom Total Bithead, as that was initially the only one i knew was portable, and had a decent playing power duration.

However seeing the minibox-D, even smaller and cheaper, then suddenly the MiniBox-E which is price competitively against the Headroom, yet at a cheaper delivery cost.....

I'm finding it difficult to decide.

If some of you experienced audiophlies can give me some advice that would be really appriciated!

The one thing i noticed about my shures is that it does lack abit of Basss, perhaps thats just something Amps can't correct but if there is a chance one of these Amps can make it better, please tell me.

Need to know within this month so i can order them and get them shipped to HK (where i'm current at) before i fly out again t ogod knows where.

thanks for you help in advance!

I have 2 of the 3 you mention - the MiniBox-D and MiniBox-E.

From a purely size standpoint, the MiniBox-D is the thinnest and most portable. It comes with a nice protective case. It sounds nice and warm and makes a difference, but not as much as the MiniBox-E.

I find the MiniBox-E makes a noticeable sonic difference with my setup (iPod 5g 80gb video, Future Sonics Atrio M5's). At the outset, the highs were slightly harsh, but as I use it more, the sound is becoming more refined.

My Minibox-E just arrived as well, i've just been using it with my shure SE210 for a few hour and i have to say, i love the "PtoS" , being a newbie, i'm unfamiliar with the terminology to describe it, but the best i can call it is... the sound "expands" feels like there is "air" its great! the "bass" mildly improve the bass at first, after a few hours i've noticed it's gotten...mmm...more "punch"? it seems to be "tighter" and i think its getting more like that.

now one of them i have no idea what it does its the "SFOR" i tried listening with it switch off, i can't reaaly seem to tell the difference at first. Just a few minutes ago , iturned it on after the amps been runnnig for 5hrs, and....its hard to say, but it seems liek something happens, its like the edges of harmonize softly...i dunno what that means but its the best i can describe it....maybe the amp needs a few hours to burn in, and i need to train my ears a little bit better.

anyway, over alll, im glad i got it, definitely feels my music are more "fuller" filling out my head, and not so flat.

great purchase

Now all i have to do is try and find a damn soft case to put it in....
