Minibox-D hiss

I got my Minibox-D the other day. It's my first portable headphone amp and it does seem to improve the sound a little bit, but it hisses a lot with my Sennheiser cx300s. The hiss is enough loud to be heard even when there is music playing. I can also hear it with my SR60s, although it has to be very quiet. It's even worse than straight out of the headphone out of my iPod Nano 2G 2gb. The hiss is there when connected to the iPod through my line-out dock, connected to my PCDP's line-out and when it isn't connected to anything.

Also, the volume knob is very sensitive. At something like 30% volume, it's almost enough to make my ears bleed. With the volume down at zero, I can still hear the music a little bit.

I was just wondering if this is normal from the Minibox-D, as I don't remember reading about this kind of behaviour and if it isn't, what might be the cause of it.

Also, looking at the images at Head-Direct, the place where I bought this amp, the whole circuit seems to be a bit different with different kinds of parts. They were out of stock when I ordered it, so I had to wait for a new batch of amps to arrive. Apparently the new batch is a little bit different?

So sorry to hear this. Actually it is the second hissing problem in last 50 pcs minibox-D we sold. The reason might be shipping damage because minibox-D did not have a packing case and we had to use the Post office box. However we will have nice box with foam protection inside in the next two weeks.

Anyway pls return it to us. We will do exchange or refund.

The pics in our website are old. We inproved the design several month ago.
