Mini active microphone for line in players

Is there something like a tiny microphone with an amp that plugs straight into line in devices and provide decent sound quality? My D2 is capable of 256kbs wma through line in and u2 is capable of 128kbs mp3, the u2 is small and has a 3.5mm jack built into it (d2 requires adapter" so would be nice with a small, cheap active mic that makes it into a more decent recorder

None of these are anyways half near what im looking for. Im going to use it for 128kbs mp3 recording, I dont need or want equipment that cost hundreds of dollars.

so I still do not see you mentioning a price range for what you are willing to spend..

what are you recording?

you can pick up some normal computer mic's that are found at RadioShack, Best Buy, etc. and they'll probably work well too. but if you want decent quality, be prepared to spend a decent amount of money.

Voice mainly, class lectures in fall... May just go with the internal one.

The one you linked to looked very nice, but i dont think its active, so wont work directly with line in

it's not under $50 but it's not hundreds of dollars either. it's $99.95 and it will also work with your line in.

this Sony may be active as well for it uses an internal power supply but you should contact mini disco to see if it will work for you. it's $64.95 on their site and I think I spotted it somehwere else online for $54.

Either way i was bored today and tried the internal mic a bit, it will do for now, found some other gadgets i'd like

dont get your point, as i said, dumb sites that havent heard about usps. not ups, usps. they could ship those ****ers with usps for $12 or so, if not less

i'm planning on buying one too,. what do you mean by "active"
here is the description...........i think all you need to do is set up the player to record and plug the mic in the hp jack. i've tried this using my vision w with a regular headphone and the hp worked as a mic.
