Hi everybody,
I have been in the market for a headphone amp for quite a while, and have gotten many suggestions. At one point or another I have considered the Minimax, the M^3, and the Little Dot Mks V and IV.
I thought I had narrowed it down to the Minimax, however when I got a quote to build one, the shipping from the US to Australia was huge. The amp ended up costing me close to AU$500 - which I just can't afford.
A few days ago, a friend of mine told me he was selling his Little Dot MkV for AU$400, but that he would give me "mates rates" of $300 if I wanted it.
So the question is, to drive my HD650s, would a Minimax for $500 (I would have to wait at least 2 months to be able to afford it) or a Little Dot MkV for $300 be a better deal?
p.s. Source is Rega P1 TT > Project Phono box II > AMP > HD650s or Asus Xonar STX line out > AMP > HD650s
p.p.s I really do not care whether the Amp is SS or tube. Whatever sounds better is fine.
