Mid priced IEM cables thread.

CEMA, IvipQ, maybe SevenStrings.
But you didn't write your preferences except price. If you don't believe in difference of cable sound, then get any with good look.
I have noticed some small differences sound wise but mainly just some more clarity in a EA Griffin i had, so just trying to explore now and no preference yet atm haha. But thanks I'll check those out!

I have the Yongse Captain, which is nice, but a tad bright, Mars, also bright plus an ergonomic nightmare; ISN G4, I think. It's very good, I have to say; White whale, by Hisenior, good as well and a Hakugei, which is brilliant, but pricey. There's also a fiio cable, but only in mmcx, if i remember correctly.
The Ares S II of Effect Audio is around 200, maybe less now, they have some coupons on their website. Good quality, 8 wire copper.
Yea might just end up just getting the Ares with coupons this week since they aren't on sale often

Guys how will the Yongse Venom be for $30? Any impressions about this cable will be appreciated, thanks.

Stay away from this. More than one month after paying, still not advancing with the order, even though it was never mentioned as a pre-order or anything. Communication with the seller is almost impossible. Replies are unintelligible, my guess is he's just stalling.
The cable might be ok but don't buy through the Rhapsodiostore.com, which is where mestudiobiz redirects you.

Still waiting as well, although their web page declares very long handling times for International buyer....

Wow, SORRY to all about delay shipping ( no excuse from them to provide tracking after order was ship!)
i ordered 2 cable from them with two diff order and ask them to send out via HK regular post (cheap way like AE) to save duty from HK to Canada, and approx 2-3 week max to received.
note: both orders, they never give me a tracking, after 10 days i follow up order confirmation email and ask for tracking and they provide 1 day later: said order was ship day after order confirmation and i received 3 days later to door ( approx 17 days from paid)
i really hope both of you receive you product soon, 1st order was below 3 week, and second order below month (4 weeks), for this , i found is normal in my case to ask for cheap way to canada, i don't know any info and shipping method they use for orther country
really sorry and hope thing going well , i think better for all china or HK areas, we need to ask them how long it's take to delivery from their store to us before confirm payment
for fact: i buy adaptor for WM1Z from PWA (KH store) and take 6 weeks to my door.
best regards

Ground adapter for Sony NW-WM1A/NW-WM1Z/WM1AM2/WM1ZM2
DSC_0246.jpegone.jpeg

There have been 4.4mm adaptors added to the grounding ability of the 1A and 1Z 3.5mm plug for ages, this is nothing new.
Though I haven't tried any of them, people have noted sound quality differences due to the 3.5mm ground locking the 4.4mm signal in. The difference here, and what a difference is the introduction of Totem material. Yep, take something like the ASOS+X and add the heft and weight to an all BA IEM display and there is a huge Totem difference. While sure anyone can simply get the Totem adapter addition as a way to add Totem magic to your other DAPs, but here the Totem really adds a deeper meaning to the music. To be honest I have not spent all that much time with the system, and you would think simply unplugging the 3.5mm cable while the music was playing would give you a noticeable instant difference, but no either my hearing is not good enough, or I just need to spend more time with it. What is a big deal though is the addition of the Totem cable extra as an add-on to the ASOS+X with both my past TOTL Nobel Audio 10BA Encore Universal IEM and the Night Oblivion Butastur 10BA Universal IEM. I have more than 100s and 100s of hours listening to the Noble Audio Encore and this Totem extra heft and warmness is real. Plus the ASOS+X is my cable of choice for the Night Oblivion Butastur and the Totem add-on is dialing it in just that much more. What the Totem does is add Palladium, Gold, Cooper and Silver into a harmonious mixture that originally costed a whopping $799.00 to get into! Since then Penon has redesigned the plug system to make it modular with fewer parts, hence now the regular modular Totem is $699.00. Yet all this is totally worth the price of admission, being the Totem is by far the nicest and most resolving cable I have ever heard. I still have memories of certain sound files when used with the K10 Encore, and any time I want I can go and revisit that special place. It is a Totem/Encore synergy where bass notes are both coming from a clearer background of solid blackness and a window into the texture of notes is irreplaceable....................except with the Totem/Encore combo!

Now sure this adapter grounding system is not the Totem cable, but with my set-up I am truly hearing the effects of what (extra) has been put in place. The effects as a wider stage and inside that stage images seem to carry an extra level of thickness, maybe call it warmth, but is it more than simple warmth? It should be noted the system can come with a plug instead of a female 4.4mm receptacle. As such this offers grounding when using the WM1A/WM1Z as a source to an amplifier.

Not even shipped after one month. I think I've been had. Let's see if paypal can get me the money back. Next time I'll stay away from dodgy shops :frowning2:

Would love some guidance
I have read the last 40 or so pages of this thread so a little knowledge gained
I am looking for a cable for my CA Andromeda , to use with my DAP. I am in the UK so I assume much less options .
Won’t buy a cheap cable but won’t go crazy either so looking for some recommendations please . I am a cable novice and have only really heard of effect audio, eletech and plussound . Any guidance appreciated

If you make use of the Black Friday sale on AliExpress, you can get a good Xinhs/ivipQ, Hakugei or NiceHCK cable for £40-£100, or maybe one by FiftyStrings (I’ve not tried them). What is it you want from the cable? Just a well made cable, one that is quite neutral, analytic, etc.

I will have a look on Ali express but it always converts to German for me for some reason
Yeah just a decent well made neutral cable.
I will check out the ones you have mentioned

If you use the website, try a different browser. If it’s the app, go to the Account tab (bottom right), then settings (hexagon top right), and make sure the location, language and currency are correct.

It’s worth messaging Xinhs and ivipQ (same owners, or certainly related) as they are very helpful. I’m a little out of date with NiceHCK but some of their older neutral models are on a great sale (GreenMood, GreyFlag, SpaceCloud, etc). The Hakugei Golden Bodhi Pro is kinda neutral.

You can also check ivipQ/Xinhs on Twitter for discounts on recent cables, that stack with Black Friday.
