Hi,

I got a MSWord-related assignment that I don't know how to do it at all...

I hope the more experienced MS users here be kind enough to help me with my assignment.

This is the instruction:

Create a Word document based on the document extract in PDF and the diagrams .When you do this assignment, it is essential that you use styles for different parts of the text such as header, footer, headings, body text, captions and so on.

Please note that you don't have to retype all the text into your word processor; you can copy the text in Acrobat Reader, and then paste it into your Word document. However, you do need to do the first diagram in the document yourself since it is not included in the diagram package.

I tried to cut and paste the documents from PDF to MS word, and I managed to do the Title, and the heading, but when I cut and paste the paragraph, it all messed up. As you can see from the picture, the spacing is all messed, it doesn't look like the tidy one from the original PDF text.

And I don't understand at all what it means with the diagram thing...

Please, someone with more brain than me help me here?

Thanks a lot in advance!

change the margins on the entire document to 1" on all sides to get all the text to line up appropriately.

I couldnt figure out how to add the indentation or space between paragraphs because it is formatted really wierd, but maybe someone else know how.

best of luck

I would fix that spacing by hand, it will only take a few moments. As for the indentions, I beleive you can do that with the little tabby looking things at the top of the page.

Click on the 'Show All' icon, like a backward P. It will toggle on/off and make the tabs, space, para markers visible/non-visible.

Replace the errant paragraph markers with a space. Several ways to do this but if not many just highlight each one with the mouse and hit spacebar.

Then select the entire paragraph(s) and choose the style you want, even if you choose the style of the paragraph it will reset any dodgy settings. Try switching between two styles and you'll see the effect better.

On the diags they obviously expect you to spot which one is not supplied. You could always use the image copy button in Adobe and insert that as an image. Perhaps it's a test to see if a table or built in Word function is your best/quickest solution. Sorry did not check to see which image was actually missing.

I expect they would be looking for a Word document that replicates the PDF, so try to use the same fonts & sizes.

Turn on the paragraphs marks by clicking on the ¶ symbol or hittin CTRL-SHIFT-8. You will then be able to see and delete all of the extra line breaks at the end of each line.

It means to take the diagrams from here:

the diagrams

and place them in your document.
