Hey All

Hirsch found this tube as the bass monster of a 6SN7, the Ken-Rad 6SN7GT (VT-231): (sorry using your pic Hirsch !!)

There is another Ken-Rad Vt-231 / 6SN7GT tube:

Questions:
a) Do they work and sound same way?
b) Does anyone have any idea where to find these first pic tubes?

Thanks

Ari

The tubes in both of your pics are really the same tube, assuming they are both staggered plates.

The top pic that has KEN-RAD printed very large on the base is earlier. Like the early '40s. The bottom pic should read on the base:

JAN-CKR-6SN7GT
KEN-RAD U.S.A. VT-231

This was made a little later. 1944 or so to ?

Hirsch and Tuberoller please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm a bit late coming in, but those staggered plates are the right ones. Sorry you didn't get them (and whoever got them wasn't me.) If you can find them NOS, pricing can go to $120/pair or higher. Good used sells for almost as much. They're worth it, but once pricing gets to that level, I'd recommend a reliable dealer unless you've got a decent tube tester.

Hey Hirsch !!

Thank you ! I have a old friend here who has a good tube tester. And he is very excited on cleaning the dust off it...

Best
