I am having some problems with my headroom microdac (see this thread). Anyway, its acting up, I have a laptop and I never heard much of an improvement in sound anyway. I have heard time and time again that a good DAC makes a big difference but I just can't hear it. Maybe my laptop's built in sound card is really good (Realtek ALC882)? In any case, I have been entertaining the thought of selling my practically new micro DAC (if you are interested, message me) and getting a high quality pcmcia soundcard. Is there any pcmcia sound card that is just as good or preferably better than the microdac?

I think you'll have a hard time finding a sound card that can do better than the MicroDAC... And could you PM me about how much you're looking to get for it, please?

What about the Echo Audio Indigo DJ? I heard it is pretty good.

But my computer has a pcmcia slot and I plan on having it for a few years more at least (it is only a year old). I am just interested in getting a more convenient dac situation. Without a large loss in sound quality (no loss would be preferable).
