I am wondering if there is any reason to get the MG Head over the MKII? The price difference is neglegible unless we are talking about a used MG Head. So would it be wise to get a used MG Head and save the money for some tubes? Thanks!

No ! No reason except you buy a used in cheaper price. Sure Mark II is better.
