Way back(~2 years ago), some Head-fi'ers had some issues with MG Head OTL they had bought, so Joe Lau of ASL made a few of these amps (~6-8) as gifts for these suffering Head-fi'ers.
Like the regular MG Head OTL, they sound best with high impedence phones (HD600/650, etc.) and sound good at a reasonable volume level. This amp is very sensitive to tube rolling.
btw. I just did a search and found 3 pages of posts on (MG Head OTL-H)
Well I have 120 ohm headphones so not high (I think HD 580, 600, 650 have 300 ohm impedance??????). Also, the only posts regarding the "MG Head OTL -H" were from this forum and not really informative. To answer the question as to why I am asking it is because there is one for sale and there have been no takers for quite a while so I wonder if that is a warning for buyer to beware or the price is too high. I really don't know. Also I saw a MG Head headphone amp (no idea which specific model): http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....ube&1121999292
sell for only $80. The guy said this is about the price it sells for... I asked for which specific model but he didn't answer. Maybe it was the -H? No idea...
