MG Head or XCans

I haven't heard the Mg head but have the X-CanV2. To me it is a nice amp and a killer combo with HD580 (I have the 600s).
From what I ve seen on these forums, it appears thet there isn't a clear winner. I believe both are good.

MG Head DT is better [short version].

[long version]
What kind of music do you listen to?

I case of Techno both amps do the same.
If it's Jazz or even Classical, X-Can can do very little.
It's even not pure tubes amp, it's hybrid. If you take a look
inside, there is bunch of cheap parts, transistors, cheap
resistors. Total suxx.

MG Head DT sounds much better than looks inside.
It's not fair, bit it's real one, and in the price range this
one is preatty good.

Having owned the X-CANv2 and HD-600, I'd have to disagree with that quite strongly. I mainly used the X-CANv2 with Jazz and Classical during the time I owned it, and it was a great match for the Senns.

I can't compare with the MG Head, having never heard it.

Ah, but MacDEF, you could have, and you still can compare the MG Head with what you got. Just have to make it to a BA Headwizer/fier meeting one of these days :>. BTW reo Why are you selling your MG Head? I might be interested in picking up an extra for the office. Kurt lent me some of his amps and I had some revelations comparing them but I'm procastinating on the write up and this one's going to be a long review.
