To: MG-Head tube rollers et al

I already have some 12AX7's and some 5751's for my mg-head. They sound great, but I'd like to experiment a little more.

Question:
Is it ok to use some of the other tubes that I've seen in tube substitution tables (e.g. 12AT7, 12AY7, 12AU7, 12AV7)?
Do I risk damage to my amp by using these?

You can find some info on this by searching. Nick Dangerous asked Joe Lau (the designer) and his response is in the archives.

The short answer is that Joe says all these subs are fine! Of course, gain will vary across tubes. I've done limited rolling myself, but so far my favorite tube in the MGH is a 12AT7WA.
