My first car weighed a ton, it was a mini clubman with massive speakers in the back, I had 4 alpine amps, the lights dimmed that much when I put the volume up
Ha, me too, I put two Boat batteries in the rear to push the Sound stream amps. Had MB Quarts, eight mids, eight tweeters , four 8 inch mid woofers, four 15 inch sub woofers.

I implore everyone who gets their Empyrean to listen to this

Sounds like my LCD-4 and Schiit Mjolnir 2.
Hope the Empyreans sound as good (to my ears), even with a different sound quality...and are a tad lighter in weight.

Cheers!:beerchug:

Phil would you say the Empyrean makes your list of top 3 best headphones you’ve ever heard? If not, which 3 supersede them?
Can I please narrow this down to something like top 3 open back headphone?

If I was to say yes top 3 headphone if I consider things like build quality, packaging, comfort etc. HE1 would be my top but I will remove it from this list as it's simply unobtanium for many.

Sure! Top 3 open backs is fine. And yes the HE1 is in a different league, so no need to include that one.

I agree. Only the lottery can obtain that for me.

I just looked up HE1, which I never heard of. It costs $52,000!!

I'm not sure what a comparison of Empyrean to HE1 would establish. Not to mention, if there more than 1-2 owners of the HE1, I'd be shocked as hell...
