Greetings!

We hope you’re all doing well, and that you’re taking time out of your day to have some fun, too – at least as much fun as we did preparing this release for you guys. We’ve gone and channelled our artistic vision and technical expertise to create a fully-fledged, deeply immersive experience for you to enjoy. A more compact and accessible planar magnetic open-back headphone that is every bit as technically capable and comfortable as our higher-end options.

This is the story of the Meze Audio POET.

ELEGANCE IN DESIGN & MATERIALS
Every detail of POET is crafted for both durability and timeless elegance, ensuring an immersive listening journey that lasts a lifetime.

CUTTING-EDGE ACOUSTIC INNOVATION: THE MZ6 ISODYNAMIC® HYBRID ARRAY DRIVER

At the core of POET is the revolutionary Rinaro MZ6 Isodynamic® Hybrid Array driver—an evolution of the award-winning technology found in LIRIC and ELITE. Engineered exclusively for POET, this driver sets a new benchmark for clarity, low distortion, and spatial precision.

ACOUSTIC METAMATERIAL TUNING SYSTEM (AMTS)
By integrating Dan Clark Audio’s Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System (AMTS), POET refines high-frequency performance, eliminating unwanted peaks for a more relaxed, immersive sound signature. This technology enhances both clarity and balance, making long listening sessions more enjoyable.

PREMIUM CABLE INCLUDED
Each POET unit ships with a hand-braided copper cable, featuring a 6.3 mm termination for seamless integration with high-end audio systems. Designed for optimal signal transmission, this cable preserves every detail of your music.

I like what you’re doing with your brand strategy and marketing approach. The idea of trickling the aesthetic and performance attributes of higher end models down toward lesser expensive versions has me believing you’re the kind of company I want to follow and be a part of. Even if I was someone who couldn’t afford one of these, I’d be diligently watching in hopes of one day being part of the brand family. Kudos, Meze

Curious where the Poet sits tonally? Is it more neutral like the Elite? Or warmer like the Empyrean? For those who prefer a thicker, warmer tonal balance, which would be your top recommendation?

Not sure why Meze and others publish the weight without earpads. I'm not in the habit of using headphones without the earpads. And as someone who cares how much a headphone weights, I find this....annoying. For years most everyone thought that the hd800 weighed 330 grams because that's what Sennheiser published on their website. But if you actually weigh them, they are 375 grams (which includes the earpads and headband pads). Honestly, it's a little shady.

this does seem strange, especially seeing as there is no mention of there being multiple earpad options in the box, which might change the weight.

Very slick. Meze always nails the design side of things. This launch with AMTS being licensed might help explain why no open-back DCA E3 (or Noire X) ever came to fruition. I'm not sure that I really have a need for this one (what with ZMF BC and DCA E3 in my fleet, and ZMF BO on the way eventually), but I'd certainly be interested in hearing it, or maybe adding it to the "when they hit the used scene for 20-30% off" list (as I did with E3).

hmmm, headband... I would expect it to be the same as Liric.
It would look much more premium.
And it would cost more. The point of this release is to make a more affordable option. That always means some compromises are needed.

We are talking about the $2000 range.
I don't think Affordable is the word we use in premium headphones that cost 2000 dollars.
I do own headphones IEM cost 2000 and above, there is a lot more they can do for the price they ask.
When I got my Liric, I could see absolutely no compromise.
Meze always did and won this category so I am just surprised they did come up with a much cheaper looking (probably cheaper cost as well) option.

I like it. It kinda reminds me of the HD560, except all metal and planar.
