Hey friends. This is personally the headphone release I've been most excited about all year. The new flagship summit-fi headphone from our friends at Meze Audio. ELITE takes everything you love about Empyrean's heirloom-worthy craftsmanship, comfort, and musicality and brings a huge leap in detail and technical performance.

Man alive, it's an incredible headphone. Antonio Meze and his team are truly masters of their craft. We have a very limited amount of initial units in stock for immediate shipping today with more trickling in over the coming weeks.

Feel free to ask us if you have any questions about its sound signature, how it pairs with different DAC/amps we've tried in our office, and anything else you might wanna know more about! ✌️

Feel free to ask us if you have any questions about its sound signature,
How does it compare in tonality ro the Empyrean.
Is it still a warm full bodied sound with strong Bass presence?
Did it Lose Bass quantity?

I heard conflicting Information about that

Nice review but the crazy trend of $4k for headphones lately seems like the new trend I find hard to jump on

$$$$

I also wonder on tonality. If the treble detail is improved, the it will be a no brained for some.

The comfort alone is worth some money.

In listening side by side, I don't hear loss in bass quantity in the mid bass down to the sub, Elite definitely matches Empyrean in slam. I do hear a difference in the upper bass/lower mids though, where Elite is not as warm as Empyrean.

Exactly what I wanted to hear.
Can't wait to receive them.

The original Empyrean pairs well with tubes. Thoughts on the Elite? How much does the Elite scale up with better amplification?
I didn't get a chance to listen with tubes, though I recall listening to the original Empyrean with an Auris amp and felt that it was a little bit TOO warm, so I'd expect the Elite to do better with a warmer amp. It definitely scales up – I listened with a range from iBasso DX160 to the Burson Conductor 3XR on up, and there were huge improvements in the 3D image and in the level of detail presented along the way. I really liked the pairing with Chord DACs as the Elite can handle the balance getting tipped a little further into the analytical direction without losing its musicality.

Supposedly Empyrean + Auris amp was a match made in heaven...
