First, the Volume control on my K7 is damaged (On-Off not working, too sensitive to adjust). I have installed a toggle switch on the 5V power into the K7.
I like the volume control on the K11 R2R, so I am using it in pre-amp mode (LO SE).
Second, I like the sound of the Over Sampled R2R DAC. It is a bit brighter than the K7 (AKM DAC). This suits my old ears
I need to buy a longer balanced cable (~10ft or 3M) to reach the couch and listen with my 109s. I'm relatively new to the headphone game; who makes solid, high-value cables? When asking Claude (AI), it recommended Hart Audio Cables. Is that a good option?

I am also looking to upgrade the cable but I think I prefer a braided look to those stiff looking black ones from Hart and audiophile ninja. Someone recently posted open-heart cables from Ali-express - super cheap but they look nice (this is the main concern for me as I am a non-believer in cable tuning).
BTW, any impressions you'd like to share regarding your new Schiit stack with the 109?
Hart Audio are solid for the price. Just like sparty09 said above the interconnect system is nice.
I like Arctic Cables. Solid price and have plenty of options to choose from for your connectors, sleeve colors, and y splitters. Also free shipping for US customers.
been using my hart audio cable for a while now. didn't buy a balanced interconnect thought, maybe i should?
the cable it self is really great and in a high quality

I have the open-heart cables and they are fine, I got them as others on this thread had recommended them. Cannot comment as to how well they compare to other makes however I did purchase some hand built ones locally and they suffered from microphonics, very annoying.
The open-heart do not suffer from it, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.60.79b81802HwoKQG

I am going to add a healthy dose of Dub and Reggae to that. That said, I have been listening to a lot of jazz on my 109s and have been very pleased with it.
They're good all rounders, they only thing that you have to watch out it's with female vocalist, if it's not well recorded or mastered, it kind get kind of spicy, also if they mix gets particularly busy, the 109 starts to fall apart.
