Im absolutely loving my 109’s pared with the Mojo 2, but im curious, would a dedicated desktop amp make them sing even better if I used the Mojo 2 just as a dac?
Any amp recommendations under $500 that would be a noticeable improvement over the Mojo 2 for when im stuck at my desk?

1. The mojo 2 is very good
2. The 109 is an easy load
There are many that say the competently designed DACs and amps sound the same anyway. Regardless of your view the mojo is already very good (I love mine).
I have, my TA-84 can drive them well enough, but it doesn't really influence them a lot, and it probably takes away from some of the airiness that this headphone has, it doesn't transform at all like a HD6X0 series HP does or has a good synergy like focal headphones tend to do with OTLs.
For those that asked, it's a limited edition "maple silver" sold in Japan. Retails for around 1150USD with the PCUHD silver-plated upgrade cable included, which I thought was a really good deal!
I'd go with the 109 pro purely because the MSRP of the MDR-Z1R is €2449 here in Ireland and the 109 Pro is €799. That puts them in two completely different leagues for me. I'm sure the Sony could be found cheaper elsewhere as I've seen it for around $1800 on American websites.
What features or characteristics have you stuck deciding between both? I know pretty much nothing about the Sonys and haven't heard the 109s for myself yet so thats why I can only really compare them based on price
.
Strictly sound. I now have and love Meze 109 Pro with 4.4 mm LQI Cables balance cable. The Meze is amazing with Lotoo Paw Gold Touch and Lotoo Paw 6000. It does not pop the same on the Sony DAPs.
