HELP!

I picked up my headphones this morning and they are really unbalanced. The right side seems to be an the normal volume, but the left is much lower. I've tried restarting all my equipment and re-setting all the cables, but nothing has fixed it. Has anyone else run across this issue?
Flip the earcup cables around and see if the problem follows the cable or stays with the headphone. You need to find out where the problem is first, also try plugging the cable into a different source.

When I do that, the problem switches sides, so it appears to be a cable / system issue, not the headphones themselves.

Try pushing the wires or wiggling them around at the strain relief of each plug while you are listening, sounds like a bad cable to me. If it is the end that plugs into your source that is an easy fix and can be replaced with an aftermarket plug. If it the end that goes into the cups you will not find anything as slim as the stock plugs, and that is the only thing I dislike about these headphones are those proprietary plugs.

Haven't used these in a while. Sheepskin Brainwavz Pads, Standard Meze Balanced cable to my JDS Labs Atom stack. Pure synergy IMO.

Outer of my headband is worn, what screw tip is it to replace? Can't tell from looking.

Torx T6. Tested with a T6h (but no security pin, so T6 is fine).

Picked them up this morning, and now they seem to be working normal. No idea what changed...

All good, hopefully it was just a a piece of dirt on the source plug etc. I would still pull on all the strain relief areas to see if it comes back.

As @TrollDragon said, most likely something obstructed firm connection and now that 'something' is gone it seems. It happens. Worst case scenario, your cable will eventually fail but replacing it isn't an issue. It's great that even affordable cans have these detachable now :)

If you want to keep the aesthetics of the headphone you are stuck using Meze cables though. I find the stock one very rubbery and the silver balanced has a outlandish price here in Canada.

It ain't cheap in the U.S., either. $120 for a cable is a bit much, especially when I purchased a beautiful, durable balanced cable for my HiFiMan HE-400se from the outstanding Audiophile Ninja for $70.

AFAIK the JDS does not have balanced input. Which adapter do you use for your balanced cable?
iBasso CA01 And a Standard 3.5 to 6.3 adapter.

I also have the black Fiio adapter that's 2.5 female to 3.5 male and it works flawless, seems to be discontinued though

They go rather nicely together, I agree. But still, these cans are worth getting a nice aftermarket cable that could be tailored to one's visual needs.

Y'all got any fun EQ APO presets to try with the 99 Classics? I've tried returning to these on a few occasions recently since there's a lot more noise and distractions around right now, but I'm not really enjoying the sound for some reason anymore. It just kinda sounds hollow and tinny to me and I don't really understand how that can be, considering all the mid-bass (and mid-bass bleed) it has lol.
