the Micro iDSD BL, so I can get as near as possible to the performance of my desktop rig while traveling.

With micro iDSD BL you might. We got a ton of feedback that this thing behaves like a full-sized desktop deck, so you should be happy! And thanks for having it on your shopping list!

Hi @ccrys,

I suggest the Lexicon Alpha.

Hard to go wrong with this audio interface, especially for the price.

Hope you have a great day !

The first question would be about how much money you want to spend and what functionality you need.

I don't have a target budget, I woud consider also a second hand, maby 50-200$, considering that Meze is easy to drive.

Hello everyone,

What would be a contrasting pair of headphones to the 99 Classics ?

Are the Beyerdynamic DT-880 250 Ohm different enough from the 99 Classics to warrant owning both ? I just got my 99Cs last month, this being my first pair of serious headphones. I like them but would be curious to experience something brighter , with more treble and more clarity.
Would like this new pair for listening to music which focuses less on bass and more on the mid and highs.

Budget would be 300-400$ at most.

Thanks !

The Meze 99c responds very well with Equalizers. I suggest you use EQ recommended in this link to get more treble, more focused vocal and brighter and clearer sound signature :

You would also think of the new Audeze lcd 1, which may have your favour sound signature. I have the Audeze iSine 10, which is also great with EQ on DAP or its own cipher cable for i-devices...

Once I changed to the SMALLER earpads, I no longer think about using my EQ. I do at times..... miss a little of the bass from the large pads .

Had these headphones for about a week now. Very musical, warm, analouge vibe, a lot of fun. Like that cool substitute teacher you had at school who was really just a grown up pupil like you - you didn't really learn much, but you enjoyed your time with them. Bass is puncy, and clarity is there, but soundstage is compresesd. Definition, seperation and imaging all suffer compared to something like the Sennheiser HD598cs, but you forgive the 99 classics because they have verve and style. Design and build quality is of course beautiful, also very comfortable and light.
