The 99 are known to be bass intense, but some people in this thread had nice hints how to set EQ to have more even and open sound.

Purchased the Brainwavz hybrid pads. Tamed the bass enough to where it wasn't overpowering everything else. That hollow sound feeling is practically gone. Still EQ'ed a bit more treble and now it's almost perfect for my tastes.

okay, so there are a few things.

You may want to give the 16 kHz a few dBs less

increase 20 kHz similar to 16 kHz

increase first two bands as well, for more sub bass and more impact

lower 100Hz a bit more

Should be a bit better
