Metro-Fi 2 v CX-300?

i'm wondering how they compare myself - and i've owned both. the 300s left here a # of months ago but they are a pretty well known commodity around here with pretty fair descriptions easily found by searching. i did enjoy their stay. the metro-fis were a more recent acquisition which unfortunately i've not yet heard

as either my wife moved them somewhere that she cannot remember or a worker pinched them. hopefully they show up at some point soon. these don't have a j-cord but the senns do.

I have also not tried the CX300 but agree with Iron Dreamer regarding the Metros. At first, the Metros sounded way too bass heavy to me. The lows were drowning everything out. However, over time, the highs have become more pronounced and the SQ seems more balanced. I am not sure if the drivers have burned in or if my ears have adjusted to the sound signature, but the Metros sound very good now. I have also found that the Metros "match" better with some players than others. For example, the Metros matched with the Creative Zen Stone sound excellent (far better than the Shure SE 210s, E2Cs; almost on par with the 5pros). As for fit, the Metros constantly fall out during running or working out; even when I am not working out, they seem to work their way out of my ears and often require a little push back into position.

That sounds very similar to my experience with the CX-300s. At first I thought they were way too bass heavy but I have gotten used to them and now find them to be OK. I use them in the gym and was going to get another pair for portable use. I was wondering whether there might be something a bit better though.

I don't want anything that goes any deeper than the CX-300s. I'm starting to think maybe another pair of Senns is my best bet.
