So who has it?!?!?

I just found a copy and yes, it sounds awesome. Well not quite, but it's awesome compared to the CD release. Finally I can listen to it from start to finish and know I am in fact listening to Metallica.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Metallica's latest album has the worst mastering with loundness I've heard so far, can't even tell it's Metallica. For Guitar Hero 3, the game, their whole album was released also. But the mastering for game was done by a different person and studio. It sounds incredibly different and better.

On my Compass, normal CD version the volume is at 7:30 and sounds terrible with loudness.

GH3 version, it's at 9:30 and good. I like it. Now that I can listen to it, I am enjoying it.

I guess every Metallica fan who has even a hunch about about good sound has it, even those who are more critical against downloading. Even users at Metallica official forums advertise it quite openly.

It sounds oh so much better than retail, even though it is actually unmastered, but atleast mixer at Neversoft/Activision knew his job better than retail versions "professional" mixers.

The eetfunk remaster is pretty decent as well.

Is it based on GH3 rip?

Yeah it's based on the GH3 rips. It's by a random dude who claims to be 10 years out of the audio business but doesn't want to listen to digital clipping for the next 20 years. EQ, multiband compression, limiter and harmonic exciter. Have no idea what all that means, may stick with GH3 for now.
