slipknot - wait and bleed
the darkest hour - doomsayer
fear factory - edgecrusher
avenged sevenfold - almost easy
mushroomhead - bwomp
throwdown - forever

so basically, i want fast-paced rock/metal songs with a catchy chorus...

IF you like Avenged Sevenfold, definitely try their earlier albums, Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. May also want to look into City of Evil as well. I kinda see a nu-metal/metalcore/metal theme here, so I'd also suggest Disturbed and Korn.

What I'd suggest:

A7X---Afterlife
A7x---We Come Out At Night
A7x---Eternal Rest
A7x---Breaking Their Hold
A7X---Chapter Four
A7X---Unholy Confessions
A7X---Streets
A7x---Beast and the harlot
Slipknot---Before I Forget
Slipknot---Duality
Slipknot---Opium of the People
Slipknot---Pulse of the maggots
Slipknot---Only One
Slipknot---I Am Hated
Slipknot---People = ****
Korn---Got the Life
Korn---Freak On A Leash
Korn---Shoots and Ladders
Korn---Evolution
Korn---Hold On
Disturbed---The Sickness
Disturbed---Stupify
Disturbed---Ten Thousand Fists

Also, Five Finger Death Punch---the entire The Way of the Fist fast paced-perfect for your request. And don't forget Hatebreed and Bullet For My Valentine.

BFMV---4 Words
BFMV---Waking the Demon
BFMV---Scream, Aim Fire

Hatebreed---Never Let It Die
Hatebreed---Give Wings to My Triumph
hatebreed---Defeatist
Hatebreed---Supremacy

I also enjoy Linkin Park, especially the classics which have a more rap sound to them. Try Lying from You, Faint, Points Of Authority, Breaking the Habit, Crawling, Runaway.

The Exploited - Beat the B*stards is worth a listen. Just constantly fast punk rock music all the way through (the drumming is almost up there with Dragonforce).
Damn fine album too.

My current metal playlist:

Runes to my memory - Amon Amarth
Fixation on the Darkness (live) - Killswitch Engage
My Last Serenade (live) - Killswitch Engage
Take No Prisoners - Megadeth
Shortest Straw - Metallica
You Can't Bring Me Down - Suicidal Tendencies

And a few more, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Dark Tranquillity - The Lesser Faith

Lamb of God - Walk With Me in Hell
Lamb of God - Again We Rise

This certainly won't satisfy the 'catchy chorus' criterion, but for fast, brutal metal, you can't get much better than SLAYER
