Just got finished building a Meta42 with the following specs:
- 2 OPA134 with Burr-Brown adaptor
- 100K radioshack pot
- R3: 470
- R4: 2K
- R5: 1K
- R6: 100K
- R7: 1K
- R8, R9: Jumped

The issue I'm having is that the high-end sounds somewhat tinny, at times painfully so. Like, for example, cymbal crashes can be somewhat tinny and painful sounding. The low-end is also a bit bassy, but in general is not that bad —_what I'm really mostly worried about is the high-end. I'm using the amp with a pair of HP890s.

What value did you use for R2? With that pot you will want to use a 909k to 1meg resistor.

Also, R7 is way too high... maybe 100 ohms would be a better choice.
Not familiar with your cans, but if they are low-z, then maybe stick a 25 to 47ohm resistor in R9.

yeah get new headphones no point using the hp890's with an amp... imo they are just ordinary, harsh highs muddy lows and generally hollow sounding.
