I had actually wondered something like this before
it would certainly make sense.. especially considering I'm about to give ALO $1400 USD of business thanks to head-fi and head-fi alone
400 to RSA...

and i'm sure my figures are low in comparison to the business so many long-standing head-fiers have given to various sponsors here

Even though I always look for a discount when buying items, I would prefer to support companies who provide the great customer support like RSA and ALOaudio and keep them in business so that we continue to have high quality options.

There are occasional promotional prices in the MOT forum. RSA gives 'early-adopter' prices for his releases. Nankai has sponsored quite a few discount threads as well. You just have to be aware when they pop up.

Earphone Solutions used to have discount for Head-Fi members. I bought my Westone UM2 from them with a "Head-Fi 20% off coupon" about two years ago.
