Can anyone help by reccomending me any other artists similar to the following

In Flames
Darkest Hour
At the Gates
Bleeding Through

I find it particularly hard to sample new music, no friends share the same taste!

Arch Enemy. Their vocalist is a woman so that gets them lots of press, but that doesn't mean their music isn't good.

Particularly I like their most recent CD, Rise of the Tyrant.

They're probably my favourite melodic death metal band out there.

x2 on Arch Enemy, I also like a couple of their other CD's: Doomsday Machine, Anthems of Rebellion.

If you want straight up death, you can't beat cannibal corpse. Theres also Nile, Cradle of filth, etc.

I like some stuff with actual singing, Killswitch Engage, Trivium.

God Forbid
3 Inches of Blood
Lamb of God
Machine Head
Shadows Fall
As I Lay Dying
All That Remains

Also, what stuff have you heard from In Flames?

demon hunter
august burns red
through the eyes of the dead
divine heresy
once beloved
bury your dead
soilwork

Angela Gossow has a pretty harsh voice, so be prepared.

And to the earlier poster, yeah, I like all their other albums too, I just think that their most recent one has gotten the most listening from me.

And I forgot about suggesting Children of Bodom! Though they're tough to pigeonhole in a subgenre- they have elements of Death Metal, Speed Metal, Thrash Metal.... hard to pin down.

EDIT: Oh, if you like female voices mixed with death metal, have you heard any After Forever or Epica? They're both mainly gothic/symphonic metal, but mix in death grunts quite liberally.
