On Head-Fi it's more like:
Person 1: "She's an absolute [beep]!" or "He's a totally unappreciative [beep]!"
Person 2: "I thought that, too, until I was with my date for 300+ hours. Night and day difference."
Person 1: "Okay, I'll stick with them. Um, does it matter what I wear? I mean, will that make a difference?"
Person 2: "Of course! If you don't wear a 100% silk shirt/dress that costs at least $1,000, they'll be terrible. And you have to buy a $200 bottle of wine, too. Costco brand won't show you even a fraction of their potential."
Person 3: "Um...maybe they're just not that good? How can what clothes you wear and what wine you buy them make them into a good person if they're rotten to begin with?"
Person 2: "How many expensive clothes and wines have you tried?! Probably none. You just can't afford it, or maybe you can't appreciate the difference! I did it and it made a world of difference! Silk and expensive wine are totally worth it. I noticed a warmer personality, more attention to detail on the part of my date the next time they saw me, and their lower end was tighter and less flabby, too!"
Person 3: *sigh* All right, not gonna argue.
Person 2: "Person 1, listen to me. This guy/girl is the best date ever, but if you're not willing to put the effort and money into supporting the relationship...
