Trying to decide between the two. Any insight would be much appreciated.

I don't have history with either brand. I gave my b&o h3 to my fiancée, and looking for an upgrade over the 215's which are sent in for warranty.

Cheers,

These two are quite different in overall presentation, but both have a big sound, both with huge soundstages. What type of sound do you like?

Build wise both are solidly made. The P1 is much bigger though. i struggled to get a proper fit and that was the only reason i returned them. T20 much easier but they can only go over ear, the P1 can sit both ways. the P1 had a detachable cable, real quality one at that.

It was a while since I had the P1 but I've recently got the T20. From memory the P1 is very detailed but VERY smooth and slightly thick, very rich. T20 with the bass filter is a lot of fun.

Bass wise the T20 goes deeper and has a nice sub bass punch, the P1 is overall a bit more neutral and balanced but the bass texture is great. i prefer the bass on the T20 (with bass filter)

MIDS - The T20s are a tiny bit recessed but good overall detail. P1s have great microdetail, they have a really unique signature.

HIGHS - Both got great detail, although this is where I can't really remember the P1.

SOUNDSTAGE/IMAGING - T20 has great depth, P1 has great width. Both present instruments well in the soundstage.

I prefer the T20 tbh. It also has three filters to choose from, and they each sound different. I think the P1 is one you'll either love or hate. T20 is maybe a little safer and consumer friendly.

What are you using as your player?

No problem, I use an Xduoo X3 for portable use. This is a great budget player and punches way above it's weight price wise. You'll get some great reviews from experienced Head Fi'ers. A weighty sound, neutral.

I mainly listen to music at my laptop at home. I have a Cambridge Audio DACmagic XS v2. this is a great little DAC. It is quite flat and it's very airy and has a great soundstage, width and depth. It works great with the T20 and really showcases it's holographic soundstage and brings out the accuracy in it's bass. The Dacmagic also helps bring out the resolution in bass (on all my headphones and IEMs actually).

The good thing about the T20 is the filters do what they say. Bass filter has meaty bass with great punch and doesn't effect overall detail. The Reference filter still has awesome bass, but is a tiny bit more forward in the mids with bit more clarity. don't listen much to the other one as I'm more a bass man than treble.

like i said, I'd probably pick the T20 over Pinnacle P1, but the P1 still has awesome sound. i can't think of any other set that comes close to their sound signature. It's a little hard to pick a tip that brings out the best in them i found.

I'm into deep house, I appreciate classical, anything really. But I guess I'm mor into realistic sounds, bass is second to detail.

That player you recommended, I'm looking at eBay, and yes there seems to be a great price, but most come from China, are they known to be lots of fakes of the xduoo?

I got mine on Amazon UK. You'll find warnings about most budget audio equipment coming from China lol. just find a seller that's got a high turnover of products, there are plenty of reputable sites you'll find discussed here on Head Fi. I prefer the Xduoo X3 to my Fiio X1 and i actually returned an iBasso DX90 because I didn't hear enough of a jump up on quality to justify the price tag.

Yeah, you're thinking of the Titan 1. the Dunu 1000 is a good shout though, it's my everyday set. I prefer them to both t20 and MEE P1.

The DN 1000 has details in spades and has great bass also so best of both worlds. Does all styles of music with a high degree of accuracy and clarity. Although V shaped, they have great clear mids. Instruments are very natural sounding. Occasionally the highs can suffer from sibilance, but mainly on tracks that are already bad for it. Some may call them bright but only cos highs extend really well, but this keeps them crisp and clear. The punchy bass gives them the 'fun' element too and keeps them musical. Soundstage is massive.

If it's balance you want then you might prefer the Dunu DN 2000. It's slightly smoother than the dunu 1000, less bass snap but it's bass has better texture and resolution. Highly detailed and dynamic. i prefer the 1000 but only because I love the v shape sound and accurate bass which doesn't bleed into mids.

In terms of details

Dunu 1000>Dunu 2000>P1>t20. But it's VERY close between them all and I'd doubt you'd be let down by either. Just remember though that the P1 to my ears was very coloured, but you may enjoy that rich thick sound (which makes the amount of detail impressive).
