I actually want a mic for use with MP3 recorders/encoders, but MD users have been bootlegging for years, so I figure someone here might have a quick answer. I know I need a powered, sensitive mic, and something stealthy. But, I don't know where to get started, what store to look at, product differences, etc. Cost not much of an issue. TIA

Check this place out: www.soundprofessionals.com

They have quite an immense faq regarding all the different type of mics they sell, i definitely plan on buying an audio technica mic soon for some summer concerts

I'll third that nomination.

I purchased a mic from SP that I use with my MD recorder. Just make sure you take to Chris about what you are going to use it for. I had to buy a battery for the mic since my line out does not have a high enough gain for the mic I bought. I am thinking about buying one of his small mic pre-amps so I can use them in more varied situations. Btw, the mics work great.
