Thanks, very interested.   I had an Emotiva XDA-1, with the AD1955 as well and dident care for it much.   The vocals felt very airey and open
and the highs were ice cold and boarder line sibilant.  (I did not enjoy the XDA-1)
 
However I release that a lot more the the DAC itself can affect the sound.
 
 
Anxiously awaiting your reply, also possible take a listen to (craft spells - your tomb)  The bells in the begging of the song really differ from dac to dac.
