So with my budget shot, I was trying to sell off my new DT770 / 250 ohm (it's in the FS/FT forum if you're interested) for something a little easier to plug straight from my computer sound card.

However, I don't really want to sell it off for half of what I paid for it being that it was new, so now I'm to figure out an amp situation again and hope that I can figure something within my range. As far as what that is.. I don't really know, just seeing what good deals are out in the market right now and see how much Ramen I can take

I noticed on Head-Direct that they were still having a Christmas sale on their Qinpu A3 going for $169 so I'm thinking of jumping on the deal, I saw skylab's review of it so now I'm seeing if anyone has ever paired this amp with the DT770 / 250 ohm.

The "X" Factor is still the DAC and I'm looking around decent one, possibly the Maverick D1 or ZERO OPA2604.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, I came across your post from looking at the bottom related posts to a thread I was viewing. I'm not an expert but I think I can offer a bit of advice. Both the Maverick and Zero are all in one "starter" units. You wouldn't need the amp section so if you got one, your money would be wasted in that area unless you would want to use it in the future. For your setup, the Zero would be pointless. You could spend the money on a dedicated DAC of higher build quality. You could do the same instead of the Maverick but the it has 1 nice feature for the DAC, a tube pre-amp output. Unless you like the tube or the source selections on the Maverick, forget both units and go with a dedicated DAC of higher quality and chances are that you would pay less than the cost of the Maverick.
