can somebody explain in more musical terms what to expect in sound signature differences from the 7 modes this DAC supports?

I think it might be best to Google some relevant filter words, which will yield results for other DACs, not just the Pro 2S:

I know this probably dosen't seem very progressive but I've pretty much left it on good old Filter #3 for awhile now.
