I just got this today and I'm pretty blown away by it, especially as a Roon endpoint. The high impedance headphone outs were disappointing to read about, but they sound very good. The HD650 sounds fantastic out of the balanced 4.4mm. I think I have finally found my bedside table setup.

Edit: The Abyss doesn't sound bad at all, quite enjoyable especially for late night listening. I think the higher impedance output might be warming it up a bit and making it more laid back than it is out of more ideal amps. The bass is still very satisfying.

I purchase the matrix 6 months ago and I'm so happy with it. Lately I've been reading about output impedance of the amp section of this dac. 11ohms on 6.35 and 22 on 4.4.

I usualyy plug some low ohms headphones (audioquest nighthawk for example) to the 4.4...

Its really so important that values ?

Glad you're enjoying that combination. I haven't tried my D5200 with the mini, but their impedance is listed as 24 ohms and they're dynamic drivers, so the high output impedance of the mini (unfortunate) should be modifying their frequency response, impacting their sound. Are you noticing that they sound more laid back or anything compared to usual? I have paired mine with the HD650 because of its high impedance and it sounds fantastic.
