I've just ordered my low profile, full size mushroom style cups in Hawaiian KOA and 5ft of Black Silver Coated Copper cable from Martin 

 
Can wait till the end of January when they should arrive and I can modify my SR80i's.
 
Photos will follow once I have done the mods

Hawaiian Koa is pretty readily available I believe (one of the most common trees on the island), I make beads for my IEM cables out of the stuff.

From what I can tell Marty handpicks the wood so if you were to get Koa it'd be a real nice piece for sure. I think he's actually on my pair of cups (Mahogany RS-1's) right now as well as a set of Magnums!
