For SACD listening, I'm debating whether to purchase a Philips DVD963SA + a headphone amp, or a Marantz SA8260 with its advertised "high quality headphone output." The total price works out about the same either way.

For those of you who have used the SA8260: How good is the headphone output? Good enough to cleanly drive a set of HD600s for classical music without using a separate headphone amp? Thanks.

nope..but my SA8260's headphone amp does a better job of providing amplification than a "maxed out" meta42 with the A-T W1000. The Hd600 on the other hand is pretty tough to drive..
