Hello everybody,

I just picked up a secondhand unit.

As a DAC/preamp to my stereo all is fine. But when I connect headphones there is still coming alot of sound coming from the speakers. I’ve tried Marantz variabe and fixed output to either my power amp or preamp.

Is my unit defect somehow ore is this really normal? I was planning on using it as as DAC/preamp in my stereo and for headphones. Now I must use the fixed out from the Marantz to a preamp, and mute the sound on the preamp when I want to listen to headphones.

Sounds normal, but I would try posting here. I just got mine today and haven't had a chance to set it up yet.

I am considering buying the HD1 but I am torn between this and the much more expensive Copland DAC 215. There are no reviews anywhere on the Copland. But the Marantz is a more affordable option and I hear the sound is quite amazing for the price.
