I just got mine yesterday! I was so excited that I actually drove down to meet Dr. Peppard at Maple tree Audio to get it. I can tell you all that Llyod is an amazing guy and he makes a great cup of coffee. He showed me around the sound lab and I got to see some of the other units in the production phase. Amazing. He really is gifted.

I'm very impressed with this amplifier. I haven't spent a lot of time on it yet and it really does still have to break in a bit. I will post my impressions in time on this tread. I'll post some pics later but the amp itself is pictures on Llyod's website. I'll tell you the case is PACKED tight and the amp has a lot of heft to it. I'm very happy so far.

I'd like to also hear others listening impressions and their favorite tube choices for this amp. (eventually)

Congrats Eric1110! Dr.Peppard is a wonderful person to deal with and I will be looking forward to the pics and impressions posted in the thread. I am very happy with my Ear+HD but the latest Ear+HD250 has me intrigued. Happy listening!

I am waiting on my Maple Tree Ear+HD to arrive via Canada Post this Monday and I'm getting pretty excited. I've emailed about picking up some extra tubes. He responded pretty quick with a good and cheaper source in Hamilton just to save me a few bucks. Great guy to deal with for sure.

Any more impressions?

Sorry folks. I'm not trying to build suspense. I'm actually recabling my rs1 and I want to listen with those before I give my impression.

So far I've been listening with my MS2i and the sound is absolutely amazing. I have never heard such a finely detailed and clear sound. I don't just hear new details in my music but it is the first time I have ever understood what people mean by a 3d soundstage. I feel like I'm right there at the recording session.

I can't wait to get my RS1 recabled so I can re asses.

You will not be disapointed by the HD250 if you have one ordered.

More to follow...

Glad to hear you are enjoying the HD250! From the website it looks like the queue is now 5 and from my understanding this special edition will only have 10.

Looking forward to some pics of the amp and of course your recabled RS1.

Cheemo,

I am ADDICTED to the HD250. It's warming up as I type this.

Still using the MS2i s. They actually sound amazing with this amp. Looks like I didn't get my cable order in time for the weekend. Sad. I guess I'll finish the recable next week.

I grabbed my place on the waitlist (5/10) after hearing snejk's Ear+ HD Super driving my Lawton LA2000 at the Stockholm mini-meet and being seriously impressed. Currently using a Rudistor RPX-33. What have you used previously Eric1110?

Did anyone try this with GS/PS1000? If so, how was the synergy between the two?

Umm, there are only two of these amps in existance at the moment, counting the prototype. Mine's the next one, but unfortunately seems stuck in the queue.

I have been anxiously waiting to hear some in-depth reviews of the HD250, but my patience is wearing thin - I may have to bite the bullet and order it sight unseen!

I even purchased a KICAS Caliente amp that I eventually plan on using for my office rig in hopes that it would quench my upgraditis. So far, it hasn't worked too well....

Rich1122,

I don't think you can go wrong! It is an amazing amp!

I'm loving it! I'm just swamped with work and overhauling my RS-1s. I still have to glue in the drivers but I can't help myself from listening to them with the HD250 ("loose cup mod" anyone?).

Hi,

I auditioned a couple of amps last night using my SR325is, a headphone which is often compared to the MS2i, and I came away wondering if a less energetic headphone may have been a better choice : a cold amp isnt anyone's idea of a good time, but I guess thats all part of the audition crapshoot. Interested to hear your thoughts on an amp that works will with the MS2i.
