Tonight I was minding my own business...browsing SACD's in Best Buy...(I had no player for them so was looking at and picked up a couple Hybrids...Pink Floyd DSOTM and a Telarc Cincinnati Pops Erich Kunzel disc) when all of a sudden there it was...staring at me..taunting me...I could not handle it!

Picked up the Pioneer DV-563A for $170. It does everything (see this link for info:

http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=0&cc=01&avf=N

Best Buy price was better and no shipping.

Well, My Senn HD 600's should be here tommorow (had a weak moment over the weekend

).

My Total Airhead got here today (I know, not the best but my first amp and again.. a weak, da#$ Head-fi.org moment)

Man, this little amp sounds great with my CPDP but it exposes how bad a source it is, can't wait to try out the new SACD player...especially with the 600's (using 570's now)

THAT'S IT ...NO MORE!!!! (yeah, I know...it never ends..

Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet. Mine is sympathizing with you, after buying a house and 3500 in Audio gear this month, it's hurting mighty bad...

Since you're getting the HD600s, I bet you'll be returning or selling the Airhead and getting a more substantial amp quite soon.

Not a chance on selling the airhead soon...

But thanks for the vote of confidence in the Airhead!

We shall see... I mean sure, what I really wanted was an RKV - Mark II from Audiovalve but I can only do so much.

Look on the bright side, there will be lots of gear to try out on your way there and you'll know just how good the RKV is when you get it!

gpalmer,

You are so right. Thanks. I am excited about the leap into head-fi and I am sure there will be plenty of time for upgrading.

I was also looking (drooling) and considering the 222ES with mods but this is a start. Pacing myself.

Have to start somewhere.

Welcome, Lance.

My first recommendation to you would be to get an appropriate external power supply for the Airhead. If it is one of the newer ones, it can take up to 15V regulated. Radio Shack has some decent ones that are even variable so that you can decide which voltage you prefer.

Pacing yourself? Hahahahahahahahahahah! Aaaaahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha haahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahah ahah.......

OMG...now I understand......I never knew...I just never knew.....

I used to think, How could anyone sit and listen to music for so long...I never knew it could be so incredible.

I can tell my headphones are limiting me, but there is so much more music here (In this SACD).

I really like the processor on this amp...really impressive on most tracks.

Uhh, ohh, you have a case of audiophilia, you should see your doctor as soon as possible!

But seriously, the upgrades are always sweet, especially when you're just starting off before you get jaded, enjoy the moment!

My wallet regrets a discovery I made about 7 years ago that the sound coming from a circa 1980's no-name AM radio can be so much better. sony cd players, Denon amps, JBL studio monitors, the discovery of head-fi, the world according to Bowers & Wilkins..

WILL IT NEVER END?!?!?!?!

^^^^^^^^^ Rhetorical question... no answer required... we all know the answer....

While your wallet is out.............surely you are not going to use that cheap cable that comes stock with Senn 600 are you?

Cardas replacement cable $150?????

(perhaps headphone amp upgrade should be next step however)
