Is this possible, by for instance, just buying a high quality cable, put something around it, buy another normal HD650 cable for the connections to the headphone, and last but not least, would it be alot cheaper then a aftermarket cable, which usually costs a tad more then 200 bucks.

Might be a strange question, but hey, I'm still a bit of a noob

EDIT: whoops wrong section... if someone could place it in the right one, it would be nice

And what type of cable should I use, in order to bring out the highs a bit more.

Just keep in mind cutting up the connectors (and fitting your wires into them) can be quite a challenge. As for wire choice, I would go for silver-plated copper or, if budget allows, pure silver. Gauge size should be no thicker than 22AWG - any larger sizes will only result in bulky (and thus, uncomfortable) cables.

Cheers!

k and the costs, what am I looking at? 50$, 100$? If it's 150$ there's no point in doing it as 50$ more get's a perfect aftermarket cable.
I have no idea what these cables would cost but my cable from the pc to my amp costed about 30 bucks so...

As long as you do not go overboard with 'exotic' components, you should be able to keep the cost around or below $50. SPC or even CAT5 wires ($5-10), a generic or Neutrik gold-plated phono plug ($3-5) and sleeving & heatshrinks won't cost you an arm and leg. Remember to budget for some epoxy glue as well as your soldering equipment.

Cheers!
