major iTunes 7.0.1 problem

I just did the update to iTunes 7.0.1. I'm on an eMac, with Apple Lossless files, playing into a HeadRoom MicroStack and DT880s.

All my recorded files now sound fuzzy and have a loud hiss over the music. Streaming radio does not, so the problem isn't the headphones.

Does anyone have any idea what the iTunes update would have done to my Lossless files?

that the problem, while not in the headphones, does seem to have something to do with the USB codec. My music plays fine over the internal speakers. It's just not coming through the USB -> DAC -> amp at all well.

i had the same problem on my pc but i restarted and than it fixed the problem

I tried restarting several times but it didn't help. I ended up having to trash iTunes and do a new install. Now it works.
